Do I have to be a Christian to be Counseled at JCS?

 

No, however, we will encourage you to be seeking God and looking for answers regarding your spirituality.

Do you have a specialty or areas of expertise?

 

 Our counselors have extensive personal and professional knowledge in multiple areas of mental health including depression, anxiety, and trauma. As licensed mental health counselors we are trained and qualified to work with any type of mental health issue.

What clientele do you work with?

We work with adults, adolescents, and children. We will use our professional judgment and make referrals if we believe another professional would have greater knowledge and skills to deal with certain issues.

Are your services confidential?

 

Yes, to the extent allowable by law. There are mandatory reporting laws that require counselors to release information to the proper authorities in cases of child or dependent adult abuse as well as cases of making threats of harm to self or others.

Are you licensed?

 

Yes, we are licensed as Mental Health Counselors in the state of Iowa (LMHC).

When do you schedule appointments?

 

We have various options for appointments including several evenings per week.

Do you accept insurance?

 

Yes, we are providers with BCBS, United Healthcare, UMR, Aetna, Midland’s Choice, CIGNA, Healthscope, and Health Partners. We will submit and handle the claims for clients. We also work with select EAPs and in addition, we offer a sliding fee scale for those without insurance.

How much do you charge for your counseling sessions?

 

We utilize a sliding fee scale based on combined household income. Please email for additional information. Assistance may be available to those that are facing financial hardship.
